If you are still in doubt about the application to our Pre-acceleration program, these gentlemen are a good example of what means for us a huge step forward. Mediprintic team took part in our Pre-acceleration program the last year, so now we made a quick Q&A with them.

  • To start — tell us what does the company does?

Mediprintic plans to introduce an innovative set of medical devices to facilitate forearm injury treatment. The set consists of MEDICAL SETTER — a device allowing to accelerate and improve the process of resetting a fracture in a way controlled by a doctor and to set a position for proper bone fusion with a given type of injury; MEDICAL SCANNER — scans the hand and forearm after the injury and then creates a virtual model of the hand and forearm on the basis of which the orthosis model for the patient will be made, and ORTHESIS — its design ensures adequate stiffness of the hand and forearm to stabilize them, you can bathe in it without the need to wrap your hand in a plastic bag or foil. Its openwork structure makes it light and prevents itchy skin.

  • Why did you take part in the pre-acceleration program?

Due to the fact that the co-founders of the project Andrzej Zakręcki (technical person), Kamil Marczewski, and Marcin Kostuj (trainee doctors) have little experience in the business we decided to participate in the Huge Thing program in order to gain business competencies and establish contacts with potential partners and investors. Also, the opportunity to participate in the Google for Startups program builds the credibility of the team in front of potential clients and investors.

  • What did you learn? What did you develop?

Thanks to our participation in the project we have received a lot of support in the area of running a startup, starting from the basics of creating business models and contacting investors (preparing pitch deck and budget), and planning milestones in our project. Thanks to the support of our mentor we were able to make interesting contacts from the MedTech world, which allowed us to get an experienced person from the area of business development and medical device sales.

  • It would be great if we could share with us some figures before/after the program (e.g. number of people employed, clients acquired, etc.).

At the end of the program, we managed to acquire 3 partner orthopedic clinics to cooperate in our project, thanks to which it will be possible to validate our product and conduct a pilot program. Thanks to the contact we gained during the acceleration, we got in touch with the Bridge Alfa fund, with which we submitted an application to NCBiR. In March 2021, the team obtained funding for the orthosis project in PARP under the program 1.1.2 Startup Platforms in the amount of PLN 1.25 million.
